Dylan
Today is ABA therapy went well. We had a ton of people here though four at once. I had to sign a lot of papers today they did some free evaluations on Dylan and he has progressed and even more so than the test show. Some of the questions on the evaluation are specific, and some of the things that Dylan can do are not on the evaluation at all. For example, 6 months ago Dylan couldn't sit still in a chair for any amount of time. Now Dylan sits at a desk and Wayne till he finishes whatever task is at hand, and then request by PECS to have a break. But because that example isn't on the evaluation it does nothing for his skill scale that he has on it. Its did rise by 2 points which is progress but he has had a lot more progress then the evaluation shows.
Today at school Dylan did the following according to the daily objectives send home sheet sent by his teacher. His paper was wrote really different and so I think he had a sub. Normally these are marked with plus or minus marks to indicated whether or not Dylan completed the task and with both plus and minor means he did it but with hand over hand help. I have no idea what numbers mean.
- 1 imitate action with body or toys
- 2 imitate speech sounds and environmental sounds
- 2 indicate refusal by pushing away nonperfered objects with an appropriate force
- 1 request object with single picture with open hand cue and 1 prompt
- 2 complete fine motor activities
- 3 sit for 5 minutes at group without adult assistants
- 2 work on age appropriate table top activity for 2 minutes.
His daily classroom actives were
- Play Skills
- Gross Motor
- Fine motor
- Snack
- Morning work
- Sensory activity
- Calendar
- Math
- OT
- Lunch
- Handwriting program
Jasmine
Jasmine didn't go to school again today, she didn't have a fever but I wanted to make sure and also she had a neurologist appointment. So I just decided it was probably best just to keep her home.
My reaction of what happend today
Being a mother with 2 special needs children isn't easy. And when you find out there might be more then you thought before it breaks your heart.
Thanks for stopping by
Jessie
