The Review

I got this for my daughter to read, she is 8 years old and special needs, reading is her weak area. I let her read the story and then I read the story to her so she could better understand what was being said, because there is indeed a very good lesson to be learned from this book.

Terry is a brave young boy who loves climbing trees, and he gets to put his strength to good use when a dolphin is in danger.

I asked my daughter 2 questions when she was done listening to me read the story to her. What did you learn from this story? Her response was, mom we should clean up the environment, then I in turn asked her why? she said so none of the animals get hurt.

Then I followed up with, telling her how brave Terry was, even though he himself was unable to jump right in and save the dolphin, he was so good at climbing trees and could get the rangers attention to help, even though that ranger was so so far away!

She thought this was a very good story and she loved the pictures.

I really think it is an awesome read as well with a very good moral lesson to be learned. As well as teaching children how our actions effect our environment.
